Concha Jerez
Intermedia artist. She studied the piano career at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música of Madrid and the political science degree at the University, also of Madrid. Since 1976, she focuses her work on making site specific works. Since the early 80s she extends her activity to Performance Art. Since the early 90s she makes InterMedia Concerts with coauthorship of intermedia artist José Iges for international festivals such as for example Ars Electronica. She has made Radio Art works also with José Iges for broadcasters such as for example ORF (Kunstradio). Between 1991 and 2011 she was Professor of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Salamanca. In 2011 she received from the Spanish Culture Ministery, the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes (the Gold Medal of the Merit on the Fine Arts). In 2015 she received, also from the Spanish Culture Ministery, the National Prize of Visual Arts.
